Bright and Shiny Shiny

I'm always on the lookout for the next bright and shiny book!

Skip Beat!, Vol. 38

Skip Beat!, Vol. 38 - Yoshiki Nakamura OMG!!

Skip Beat!, Vol. 37

Skip Beat!, Vol. 37 - Yoshiki Nakamura One star alone for all that happened in this volume--Kyoko's mom, Sho and that final scene between Ren and Kyoko! It's going to be forever until the next volume drops.

Breathless

Breathless - Beverly Jenkins I love that she always throws in great history so that if you are a history buff it makes you want to dig into some non-fiction. Very timely with suffragettes being brought up, especially in how woman of color were treated by their white counterparts in the push for woman's rights to vote and our current political climate with gerrymandering effecting people of color and woman of color being underrepresented in most levels of the political sphere.

How To Impress A Marquess

How To Impress A Marquess - Susanna Ives 3.5

The Inquisitor's Tale: Or, The Three Magical Children and Their Holy Dog

The Inquisitor's Tale: Or, The Three Magical Children and Their Holy Dog - Adam Gidwitz, Hatem Aly I adored this book!

The Secret Horses of Briar Hill

The Secret Horses of Briar Hill - Megan Shepherd There are many lovely reviews here and nothing I say could possibly top them.
I think I'll be sending my copy to my nieces and hope they enjoy it as much as I did.

Pleasuring The Lady

Pleasuring The Lady - Jess Michaels Better story than volume 1 but the steam factor suffered.

Maybe Later

Maybe Later - Charles Berberian;Philippe Dupuy 3.5

Love the art!

30 Days

30 Days - Christine d'Abo Forgot I had this checked out and had to do another 30 days to finish it. Not usually a fan of contemporary romances but this one was sweet and hot!

Destiny's Captive

Destiny's Captive - Beverly Jenkins I liked this but it was my least fav of the series.

Komomo Confiserie, Vol. 1

Komomo Confiserie, Vol. 1 - Maki Minami 3.5

A Taste for Monsters

A Taste for Monsters - Matthew J. Kirby This was so good and I could hardly wait to dive back in to find out what would happen next! The mixture of real people and setting to tell what is ultimately Evelyn's story was very clever! I would highly recommend this and have already passed my copy on to my roommate.

Patience

Patience - Daniel Clowes When people ask me who to check out to be well read in the genre of graphic novels I always put Daniel Clowes on my starter list. He never fails to disappoint.
The very last Terry Pratchett (which is why it received an extra star!) in which some very surprising things happen, like Granny Weatherwax dying and Tiffany taking her place

The book itself was a wee bit rough but the overall idea was wonderful and I think it was a very fitting ending to a wonderful career.

One of my favorite authors ever!

Three Amazing Things About You

Three Amazing Things About You - Jill Mansell 4.5

Taken By the Duke

Taken By the Duke - Jess Michaels I was looking for a certain type of romance and this fit the bill but sadly the story suffered for that very reason. If you're looking for a historical romance with a high steam factor this should do it. Lots of people seem to like this author and I would definitely read her again but hopefully the next book I read has as much care go into the story-line as it does the steam factor.
Because then Hot Damn Baby!
